The Mass Rapid Transit Line Three (MRT3) project is postponed, not scrapped to reduce the government’s debt burden.
According to Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, the cabinet will determine when construction will resume stressing that major projects will be prioritised when the nation’s financial position recovers.
He said such big decisions need to get the approval of the cabinet.
Currently, the government's priority is to reduce the rate of national debt.
Upon financial status recovery, the government will give priority to other sectors.
He said this at parliament, earlier today.
